I'm Jewish; I'm 60 years old; I hold a master's degree in psychology. And your professor is making too broad a statement. I haven't gotten more religious as I've gotten older and because I am not only educated but have critical thinking skills, I do not regard God as a man-like creature who has human emotions and can be petulant or arbitrary and who needs people to constantly tell him how great his is; I believe in Spinoza's God.
