CPU improper installation...?

I recently tried to upgrade my simple browsing Pc but when i changed motherboards, i improperly placed the CPU in the wrong way and tried to start it. it didnt power up. I fixed it, and it powered up, but no display... the monitor will not start up. everything is correctly connected... could this be because of the CPU improper installation? should i get a new one?
